PSOTS Chhath Puja 2026 · chhath.psots.in

Last updated: March 2026  |  Effective: March 2026  |  Applies to: chhath.psots.in

This Privacy Policy explains how the PSOTS Chhath Puja Committee handles your personal information when you use chhath.psots.in. This Site is built exclusively for the residents of Prestige Song of the South (PSOTS), Bengaluru — it is non-commercial, community-run, and carries no advertising of any kind.

We respect the trust you place in us when you share your details. Everything collected here serves one purpose: organising a beautiful Chhath Puja celebration for our community.

1. Information You Provide

1.1 Registration & Profile

1.2 Contribution Details

1.3 Volunteer Sign-up

If you register as a volunteer, we additionally collect your availability and preferred tasks — used solely for assigning duties on the day of the event.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

Your session and preferences are stored entirely on your own device — in your browser's localStorage and cookies. Nothing from your local session is transmitted to any external server beyond what you consciously submit through a form.

2.1 On Your Device (localStorage & Cookies)

When you sign in, your profile details (name, flat number, photo) are saved locally on your device so the Site remembers you between visits. A session cookie is also set to keep you signed in. These stay on your device and are cleared when you sign out.

No tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies are used — ever.

2.2 On the Committee's Spreadsheet

Details you submit — contributions, volunteer registrations, WhatsApp opt-ins — are stored in a Google Sheets spreadsheet accessible only to authorised committee members. This is hosted on Google's infrastructure and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

4. No Advertising. No Data Sharing.

We run no advertising campaigns of any kind. Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with any third party for commercial purposes. There are no trackers, analytics platforms, or ad networks on this Site.

The only parties who can access your submitted information are:

5. Payments & Refunds

All contributions are made directly via UPI — peer-to-peer — to the committee's UPI ID. We do not collect or store any card numbers, bank account details, net-banking credentials, or CVV. No third-party payment gateway processes or sees your transaction.

5.1 Refund of Contributions

If a resident needs to withdraw their contribution, a refund can be considered — provided the corresponding payment can be verified in our records. A refund request is only actionable when there is a confirmed, traceable payment to match it against.

To request a refund, contact the committee on WhatsApp with your name, flat number, and the UPI transaction reference. The committee will verify the payment and process the refund at the earliest.

6. Your Rights

As a PSOTS resident, you are always welcome to:

For any of the above, reach us on WhatsApp: 9482088904 or 9902837002.

7. Children

This Site is intended for adult residents of PSOTS. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian's involvement.

8. Updates to This Policy

If we ever need to update this policy, changes will be posted here with a revised date. We will not make changes that reduce your privacy without informing the community first.
